U.V. FOGGING.

Inserts inside double glazed units can cause problems of fogging and such inserts need to be tested.  This is Part 4 Annex C of the standard. Traditionally these products have been lead,  film,  georgian bars etc.

Over the past years there has been a move to warm edge spacers and there are now some concerns that some types of warm edge spacer may cause problems of fogging.  Especially when also used as a duplex (back to back spacer) system.

The BS EN1279 Part 4 Annex C test is specified at 60 degrees but there appears to be evidence that the inside of a double glazed unit can be much higher.   In Europe testing is being done at 80 degrees for some companies.

We can carry out UV fogging test at 80 degrees if required.
